Saskatoon Living

Saskatoon is the second fastest growing city and has the youngest population of any city in the country. A well-known university and college town, Saskatoon businesses and festivals cater to a young crowd.

Moving from out of province, or even to a new city, to go to school can be daunting. Saskatoon is a great city to get to know, with a student-friendly vibe, a growing culture and a small town feel that is always welcoming.

If you're interested in attending RAIS, you'll want to know about local entertainment! Saskatoon has a vibrant music scene with over 20 live music venues to catch local and world class touring acts. Movies for all tastes show at Saskatoon's many mainstream and independent film theatres.

Saskatoon's live theatre and music scene keeps us warm through the winter and entertained at the numerous outdoor festivals throughout the summer. We boast many top quality live theatre companies, tons of arts and musical festivals, plus unique and popular art galleries and museums.
Even though Saskatoon has been experiencing a major boom over the last 10 years, Saskatoon has a lower cost of living than most other major cities in the country.

Love the outdoors?

The beautiful Meewasin Valley river area runs right through the heart of the downtown. The river, trails and parks are an ideal place for hiking, biking, boating, skateboarding or just hanging out. The Broadway and Downtown Districts are the perfect place to catch a movie, see live theatre, or visit one of the many pubs, restaurants and bars to catch some live music and have a drink with friends.

With Saskatoon being an educational centre (U of S, SIAST and several smaller colleges), it ensures that there is never a lack of young people out taking advantage of events and entertainment any given night of the week. So while you're learning, don't forget to get out and have some fun!
