There is only 1 month left till graduation for the Audio Engineering and Motion Picture Arts students! They have been incredibly busy shooting/doing the location audio on set for their final movie projects. Principal photography was just completed yesterday for the film students and they now realize just how much effort is required to produce a movie!

While the film students spend the next 3 weeks editing, the audio students will be getting immersed in 5.1 Surround sound and spending more time in the studios, honing their skills. The audio students also submitted their final music mix project on Friday. They had a amazing group of acts to record, edit and mix this term. Thanks to all the bands/singer songwriters that came in to record!

Meanwhile upstairs, after learning programming by working on small games, the Game Art & Design students are now working together on their first big game! They did a pitch to the rest of the school and are now moving forward with all the elements required to make a fun, engaging game experience. Watching the students move from the early 2D sprite based games, to the 3D worlds they are creating now…has been truly impressive!

Across the hall, the 3D Animation students are busy working away on a Lego Project for their online demo reels. It will be completed at the end of the month. Stay tuned on Facebook/Instagram/Twitter to see how they’re doing! As well, they’ll be building assets in Maya and Zbrush for the new video game. Lot’s of fun and exciting things happening upstairs!
